The Hazelwood Study
The Hazelwood Study is a six-year old, ongoing, multi-phasic research program, focused exclusively on identifying deficiencies in the dental care being provided to people with ND/ID, and devising solutions to those problems.
The Hazelwood Study has won seven research awards in five years, and has produced scientific articles published in the United States, Germany, Great Britain and Japan.
The Hazelwood Study has focused on major issues affecting the quality of health and life of patients with ND/ID. Areas of study include safe radiographic imaging techniques, the elimination of Phenytoin (Dilantin) as a common anti-seizure medication, and preventive interventions for infants and toddlers with neurodevelopmental disorders.
